Product Description
The MIDAS WTR waveform recorder uses mature linear wave theory wave analysis methods to measure shallow water deployment (up to 20 meters deep). MIDAS WTR adopts Valeport's latest sensor technology, 64 bit data processing, and improved sampling selection range. The rapid data upload, quick battery replacement conveyor belt, and intuitive operation software make MIDAS WTR one of the most universal and easy-to-use pressure waveform recorders.
sensor
The MIDAS WTR is equipped with strain gauges or high-precision piezoresistive pressure sensors and fast response PRT temperature sensors as standard. It should be noted that although piezoresistive sensors have extremely high absolute accuracy, the quality of waveform data depends more on deployment location and sampling mode rather than sensor performance. Optional additional sensors include conductivity and turbidity sensors.

data acquisition
In order to accurately measure waveform activity, linear wave theory requires sampling a specific number of data points over a period of time. Then, processing these data points, the instrument generates an accurate waveform activity summary during the measurement period. Therefore, MIDAS WTR operates in a strict "sampling, processing, sleep" mode, where users control the number and rate of samples as well as the length of sleep periods. This can be minimized to continuous sampling, but it clearly requires sacrificing battery and memory usage.
Sampling rate: 1, 2, 4, or 8Hz.
Sampling quantity: 2, powers of 128-4096 (more samples=better data)
Cycle time: The minimum cycle time is the number of minutes closest to the completion of processing.
Delay start: The instrument can be pre programmed to start sampling at a specific time.
Conditional: Wave sampling only occurs if the stress activity exceeds a specified level.
Memory
The MIDAS WTR is equipped with a 64MB solid-state non-volatile FLASH memory. The total capacity depends on the settings. Users can save any or all of the following data:
The raw data of sensors for each tidal explosion
Statistical Summary of Tidal Explosion
Tides and additional sensor data
Spectral analysis of tidal bursts. If all data is saved, the memory usually records over 4000 data bursts. Take a sample every hour, which is data from over 5 months.
Software
The system comes with WaveLog Express software based on the Windows PC operating system, which is used for instrument settings, data extraction, and display. WaveLog Express has no license requirements.
